Day of Giving
October 20, 2012 | 10:00am – 4:00pm
During our annual Day of Giving event, we invite community members, summer camp families, former staff and any other friends of Genesee Valley to volunteer their time and energy working on projects to beautify and maintain our property.
Aside from being a great way to show your support for Genesee Valley, Day of Giving is a time to revisit old friends and make new ones. After volunteers "get their hands dirty," we share in a hearty meal (provided), play group games, and open up our zip lines and climbing elements to reward all the hard work. Volunteers can earn community service hours, and childcare is provided for those with little ones (ages 4-8).
Day of Giving volunteers have made great contributions to Genesee Valley over the years. We've painted murals, painted buildings and bathroom facilities, planted trees and flowers all around the property and vegetables in our garden, built new paths, and repaired trails. All while having a lot of fun and getting to know a lot of great people!
If you cannot attend but would still like to support Genesee Valley and the Day of Giving, we would gladly accept monetary donations. Your donation will go directly towards the service projects our volunteers will be working on during the day. Please send checks to Genesee Valley's address: 1717 Rayville Rd. Parkton, MD 21120.
